Privacy Policy

Who we are

Spotter is made by Brent Samaha, an independent developer based in the United States ("we", "us"). Spotter is available in the United States. This policy covers the Spotter iPhone app and this website, yourspotter.app. You can reach us at support@yourspotter.app.

What Spotter stores on your iPhone

To work, Spotter saves the following in the app's storage on your device:

• Your workouts: exercises, sets, weights, reps, times and any notes you write
• Your programs, workouts and custom exercises
• Your first name, if you choose to enter one
• Your settings, such as weight unit, weekly goal and rest timer

This data stays on your device. It's never sent to us, we can't see it, and we can't recover it for you. It stays until you delete it or delete the app.

Device backups

If you back up your iPhone with iCloud Backup or to a computer, Spotter's data is included in that backup like any other app's. Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy, not by Spotter.

When data leaves your phone

Only when you decide to send it:

• Export. Exporting creates CSV files of your workouts and opens the iOS share sheet. You choose where they go. We don't receive them.
• Sharing a workout. Sharing a workout summary creates an image and opens the iOS share sheet. You choose where it goes. We don't receive it.
• Contacting support. See below.

Support emails

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. Emailing us from the app opens a draft with your app version, iOS version and iPhone model filled in. You can edit or remove that before sending.

We use this only to reply to you and to fix problems you report. Emails are stored in our email service (Apple iCloud Mail, in the United States). We keep them as long as needed to help you, and delete them when you ask. Please don't include health or medical information in your emails.

This website

yourspotter.app doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and basic request information (like browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

What we don't do

• We don't collect your workout data
• We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools
• We don't sell or share your personal information
• We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites
• We don't access your location, contacts, photos, camera or Health data

Do Not Track

Because we don't track you across websites or apps, there's nothing for a browser's Do Not Track signal to turn off. Spotter and this website work the same either way.

Your choices and rights

• Your workout data is on your device. You can view, edit, export or delete it in the app at any time. Deleting the app deletes it all. Copies may remain in older device backups until those are replaced or deleted.
• Support emails: email us to get a copy of what we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted. We'll respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Spotter handles data, for example by adding optional cloud sync, we'll update this policy before the change takes effect. We'll change the effective date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
